I’ve been reading a book recently by Dr. Joseph Mercola titled, Fat for Fuel. You can find the link to purchase it here. I highly recommend it. Of all the books I have read and consumed over the years about health and nutrition, this is the one I’m willing to hang my hat on. This book very simply lays out the information necessary to “Combat Cancer, Boost Brain Power, and Increase Your Energy”. It seems like I’ve been on a constantly evolving diet, searching for that which will help me combat the pugilistic lifestyle that I once lived playing professional football. This diet seems to account for the areas that I feel are the most important; those being brain vitality, anti-cancer (my dad just beat throat cancer), and attempting to restore the years that I may have beaten out of my body.
I’m going Ketogenic. Or, I’m heading into Ketosis. Consider this is a dietary stand, at least for two months. That will take us up until August. If you are unfamiliar with the ketogenic diet, it’s a diet based on high fats, very low net carbs while maintaining high fiber, and lower protein. The book will be my nutrition bible for the next two months at least.
